What we are about to show you is a reality that transmits, elegance, and the scent of history, we are talking about the Hotel Plaza in Brussels which since 2004 is the only hotel in Belgium to be able to boast the recognition of "Belgian Royal Warrant Holder" honor conferred by His Majesty the King to acknowledge the appreciation of the Royal Family.
In addition to being an honor, it also means a lot of responsibility: proving that you are able to offer the same level of service, whatever the circumstances. Our commitment is to maintain this level of excellence, day after day, year after year, and prove that we are worthy of this privilege.
Hotel Le Plaza ... takes us back to the history of Brussels, the history of the Roaring Thirties, Victor Horta, Charleston, art deco, the 1935 Universal Exposition and cinemas. During the reign of Leopold II, Brussels was endowed with wide avenues and green avenues and the mayor Anspach helped to transform the urban fabric of the capital
landscape by building the artery that connects the North Station to the Midi Station. It is on this very busy and trendy artery that the Hotel Le Plaza was built.
Le Plaza quickly became the ideal venue for Belgian and international elite events; great personalities from politics and finance frequented him regularly. It was the only hotel in Europe to have an integrated cinema within the structure.
Built under the floors of the hotel of the same name, the Cinéma Plaza is particularly sumptuous. It immediately introduces the viewer to a very popular setting in the United States at the time, the Spanish Renaissance style. Porches, vents, faux wooden beams and beaten chandeliers dot the corridors. A beautiful fireplace precedes the room decorated with decorative grills (moucharabieh). The screen is flanked by fake French windows with balconies, curved pediments and twisted columns. This decoration will be kept until the cinema closes in 1985, that is to say for sixty years, which is exceptional in Brussels. It still exists and is now part of the hotel complex which serves as a prestigious venue for events.
