The Laboratory Inside Magna Pars Hotel

An olfactory journey through LabSolue and the suites of Magna Pars in Milan

Tucked away in the heart of Milan’s creative district, Magna Pars Suites isn’t just a hotel — it’s a tribute to scent. Once a historic perfume factory, this family owned space has been reimagined as the Hotel à Parfum: a place where the architecture breathes memory and every room speaks in notes.

At its core lies LabSolue, a functioning fragrance laboratory that invites guests to cross the threshold between hospitality and sensorial craftsmanship. The lab’s design blends warmth and precision, polished oak, steel and iron form the four central “islands” where essences are composed and explored. A cabinet of curiosities, inspired by the old Marvin pharmaceutical laboratory, houses glass vessels, books and archived memories from the 1960s.

Here, visitors are invited not just to observe but to participate. Thirty nine essences await curious noses, each one evoking a floral bloom, a resinous bark, a sun ripened fruit or a trail of dry woods. Velvet chairs offer a place to sit and reflect as perfumers at work distill the ephemeral into something lasting.

Above the laboratory, sixty suites extend the concept of scent into space. Each one takes its name and mood from a particular olfactory family: jasmine, gardenia, fig, vetiver, neroli, sandalwood, cherry and beyond. It’s a subtle, continuous dialogue between perfume and place.

Nothing is left to chance. From brushed oak floors and leather armchairs to bespoke lighting and original paintings. Bookshelves line the rooms with volumes on scent, history and artistry. Every detail echoes the quiet elegance of Italian craftsmanship.

Magna Pars doesn’t overwhelm. It whispers, in notes, in textures, in curated silences. In a city known for fashion and design, this hidden corner reminds us that scent is not just something to wear, but something to live.
